Anger weighs you down. Friends lift you up.
Here are the notes:
Invest.
Whenever you take time to acknowledge the presence of God you are “investing” not spending. When you “spend” there is no return. When you “invest” you get a return.
There is alway value in investing time with God.
Read. Listen. Pray.
It’s Valentine’s day. Show God how much you love Him.
This week we focus on fools. We define them and then decide what to do about them. Here’s a hint: stay away from them…LOL. A complete examination requires that we look in the mirror as well.

Chapter 23 sits in the middle of a 3-part instruction call The Words of The Wise.
It has 3 main sections. I. Ambitions of youth. II. Concerns of youth. III. Destinies of the wicked and wise.
This collection of practical instructions spans 3 chapters and contains and introduction and 30 mini chapters.
This week we focus on Proverbs 23:26-29
“Turn your heart to wisdom, and your eyes will be drawn to the good. Lust is a deep pit, and evil passion a narrow well; fall into either are trapped.”
This instruction is coming from Solomon. He was speaking confirmed truth. Solomon turned his heart to worship other Gods and his eyes were drawn to evil. His love for the women that God had forbidden short circuited his relationship with God and distorted his faith. He started worshipping the gods of his wives in violation of the first commandment.
“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”
This is the sequence by which transgression occurs.
See. Desire. Transgress.
“The heart and eyes act in tandem to draw a person to sin. The eyes see evil, the heart develops a desire for it and the body transgresses.” (Mishlei Vol. 2 page 478)
Adam, Samson, David and Solomon all fell prey to temptation and evil desires when they violated their singular and sacred relationship with God. Forbidden relationships unplugged them from the one thing they all needed in order for their relationship with God to work: TRUST.
The forbidden woman is both literal and symbolic. She serves as a symbol of anything that becomes an idol. When you have idols it means you have more than one God. The moment you have more than one god you loose the fundamental ability to trust with ALL your heart.
The answer is to follow a better sequence.
Desire. See. Obey.
Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart.
Your good name is your greatest treasure. It’s better than gold. Build and protect your good name.

Forgive. Once you do, stop talking about it.
